Patient Safety/Risk Management Training Program - MedRisk e-Learning Services

Printable Version of Policy

WUSM requires all new faculty, fellows, CRNA's, nurse practitioners and MD assistants to take patient safety/risk management training within the first 8 weeks of their employment. WUSM offers a web-based program provided by MedRisk Management (MRM) for this purpose. The program relies heavily on case studies to teach patient safety and risk prevention skills and includes  subspecialty-specific courses as well as generic courses on Failure to Diagnose, Informed Consent, Disclosure of Medical Errors and Preventing Medical Errors. New faculty, fellows, CRNA's, nurse practitioners and MD assistants must complete at least one training course in order to meet their training requirement.
